FACTORY GUIDE

Knitwear: a buyer's manufacturing guide

Custom knit accessories beyond beanies

Gazelle's knitwear category covers knitted winter and lifestyle accessories beyond the beanie: knitted headbands and ear warmers, snoods and balaclavas, scarves and cowls and branded knit sets, developed on the same yarn and gauge control as our beanies so they form coordinated winter collections rather than mismatched promos.

Yarn, gauge and knit structure

We specify acrylic, wool, wool-blend, cotton and recycled yarns and choose rib, cable, fisherman, waffle, jersey or jacquard structures to match the required weight and drape. Headbands and ear warmers use stretch-friendly structures with fleece-lined options; balaclavas and hooded gaiters balance coverage with breathability.

Coordinated collections

A winter programme can combine beanies, headbands, scarves, snoods and gloves in the same yarn, colourway and logo treatment so retail displays and corporate gifts read as one range. Colour matching across knit items is controlled against an approved standard.

Decoration and branding

Jacquard-knit logos, cuff and hem embroidery, woven and leather labels, rubber/silicone badges, poms and custom packaging are all in range. Jacquard is preferred for durability on high-repeat winter lines.

MOQ, sampling and lead time

Labelled or embroidered knits commonly start around 100–150 pieces per colour; jacquard and coordinated multi-item collections require knitting setup and a higher confirmed MOQ. Samples lock gauge, colour and hand-feel, and production is timed for winter.

Who custom knitwear is for

Apparel and lifestyle brands, winter and outdoor lines, workwear programmes, corporate gifting and winter event merchandise, and online sellers building coordinated private-label knit collections.
